Daniel Feelingue. The Wonder.

Daniel Feelingue is a singer, songwriter and a percussionist from Cameroon. His style is a mixture of old and new popular African music. An eclectic mix of traditional percussion beats and modern electronic sounds. Ranging from simple reggae, soulful acoustics to crazy modern African sounds, Daniel has a sound for all.

INTRODUCTION

Daniel was born in 1986 in a small village of Fotouni somewhere in the jungles of Cameroon. Oldest of six siblings shortened his days playing all sorts of percussion instruments he could find. At the tender age of five he started to accompany his father at traditional celebrations around the village. Taking care of his father's instruments he soon learned how to master their sound.

Life took a turn for worse when his father passed away when Daniel was still a teen. In search of a better life he left his home town and went for the capital, Yaounde. Music was different there. It was an epiphany. His already broad musical knowledge was about to be stirred and shaken into his current sound. He applied for a musical competition he consequently won. With the victory still on his mind, he left for Europe, the Promised Land.

Again faith wasn't on his side. He got stranded in Dakar, Senegal for over two years. Fighting with famine and poverty his music was his saviour. Entertaining passersby his music was his mean of surviving. The eclectic mixture of Senegalese drums has left an impact on him.

His luck turned when he finally arrived to Europe in 2009. His music toned down a bit but kept it's African fiery impulsivness. Understandably the villages of Cameroon, the big city life, the poverty in Senegal and finally calm, family life in Slovenia have all left an impact on his unique and diverse music. Luckily his talent didn't go long unnoticed. In 2013 he won a prestigeous award Meilleur Artiste de la Diaspora Camerounaise (Best Cameroonian Artist in the Diaspora).
